Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers, including the ones that matter most before you buy.

Will a court, probation office, or employer accept this certificate?
Acceptance is decided by the court, probation office, or employer that assigned your course, and requirements vary. Please check with them before you buy, especially whether they accept online, self-paced classes. Every certificate has a unique verification number they can check on our website, and if your court doesn't accept your certificate after you follow our guidance, we refund the full amount you paid.
Can I try a lesson for free?
Yes. Hour 1 of every course is free with a free account. It's the full lesson, with audio, text, and the end-of-lesson questions. The free lesson does not come with an enrollment letter or a certificate. If you buy a course later, your free-lesson progress carries over, so you won't need to repeat Hour 1.
What's the difference between an enrollment letter and a completion certificate?
The enrollment letter is available the moment you enroll in a paid course. It confirms you've enrolled and states the course length, which is useful if you need to show proof of enrollment before a deadline. The completion certificate is issued when you've finished every lesson in your course and includes your completion date and a unique verification number.
How long do I have access to my course?
For life. Your access never expires. You can come back to your lessons, replay the audio, and download your enrollment letter or certificate again at any time from your dashboard.
Can I upgrade to a longer course later?
Yes. Everything you've already paid for a course counts toward a longer version of the same course, so you only pay the difference. For example, if you bought the 8-hour course and later need 12 hours, you pay the 12-hour price minus what you already paid. Your finished lessons carry over. You'll see your upgrade prices on your dashboard and on the pricing page when you're signed in.
What if I buy the wrong course length?
If you need more hours, upgrade from your dashboard and pay only the difference. If you bought more than you need and haven't started any paid lessons yet, contact us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.
What's the difference between self-paced and weekly pacing?
Self-paced means lessons open one after another as you finish them. Weekly pacing unlocks one lesson per week, for programs that require a minimum number of calendar weeks rather than just a number of hours. Both cost the same; you choose when you enroll.
What format are the lessons in?
Every lesson is fully narrated, so you can listen to it like a podcast, and the full text is on the same page if you'd rather read along. Each lesson also has learning objectives, a key takeaway, and a few short questions at the end. You can take lessons on a phone, tablet, or computer.
Can I switch between devices or come back later?
Yes. Your account, purchases, and lesson progress are tied to your login, not a device, so you can start on your phone and finish on a laptop. Your progress is saved as you go.
What's your refund policy?
Two ways to get a full refund: if your court doesn't accept your certificate after you follow our guidance, or if you contact us within 14 days of purchase and haven't started any paid lessons yet. The free Hour 1 doesn't count as starting.
Is this therapy or a substitute for professional treatment?
No. Clearway Institute is an educational, skills-based program, not therapy, counseling, or a medical or mental health treatment service, and it isn't a diagnostic tool. If you're dealing with a mental health crisis or need clinical treatment, please reach out to a licensed professional.
