Check your state — honestly.
We want to be straightforward about how acceptance actually works: for a self-paced online course like this, most states don’t run a certification or approval program that a provider can apply to and get listed on. Instead, whether a specific court, probation office, or employer accepts this program is decided case-by-case by the person handling your situation — a judge, a probation officer, an HR contact. No state-level status we could put on this page would make that decision for them.
So please confirm directly with whoever assigned your course whether a self-paced online program like this one satisfies your specific requirement before you purchase. The map below shows any state-specific notes we’re aware of, but it’s not a substitute for checking with your own court.
What your court order actually says
Many orders simply say to complete an anger management, parenting, co-parenting or substance abuse class, and don’t say how it has to be taken. When the wording is that open, judges and probation officers often have no objection to an online, self-paced course. It is still their decision, and we can’t make it for them.
The situation changes when the order or judgment specifically says the class must be taken in person, or that no online option is allowed. In that case an online course won’t satisfy it, and you shouldn’t buy ours. Read your paperwork for any of these:
- The words “in person,” “live,” “face-to-face,” or “no online classes.”
- A named provider, or a list of approved or state-certified programs.
- A required number of hours or weeks that differs from the course you’re considering.
- A requirement for group sessions, attendance records, or reports sent by the provider.
If the wording is unclear, ask the court clerk or your probation officer before you enroll, and ask them to confirm by email so you have it in writing. If you’re working with an attorney, ask them too. Our money-back guarantee, described on the home page, explains what happens if a court doesn’t accept your certificate.
